WHAT WE DO
Throughout the school year, PANGEA organizes informational events and get-togethers for parents and educators.
When parents and the school community have an understanding of effective language immersion education models and theory, students reach higher levels of academic interest and success.
PANGEA seeks to establish a regular dialogue with the CPSD and the Cambridge School Committee as to best practice and latest research on language immersion teaching.
Each of Cambridge's three language immersion programs is at a different life stage and each has different needs to strengthen the immersion education it offers.
For this reason, PANGEA has requested CPSD and the Cambridge School Committee to designate an Immersion Support Program Manager to oversee the program models' development and planning, as well as to implement an outreach policy so that all Cambridge students have access to immersion learning opportunities.
COMMUNICATE WITH ADMINISTRATORS
We want to bring the “good news” of language immersion teaching to the community of Cambridge as a whole.
We believe that by joining up with parental groups in other parts of Massachusetts, PANGEA can help bring this "good news" to the community of Cambridge as a whole.
PANGEA supports Bill S.270 - An Act to promote global trade and economic development through dual language and bi-literacy - currently in front of the Massachusetts legislature that would establish a state-wide Office of Dual Language Educational Programs.
